You may have seen a photograph on the front page of your newspaper.

Sneaking around last week... working  in secret... a small group of bipartisan conspirators -- left-wing Democrats and turncoat Republicans --  crafted a so-called "immigration compromise."

Make no mistake about it... When the above-referenced photo was snapped a mere week ago -- right after these Senators reached this closed-door secret "compromise"-- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and the gang wanted a quick vote... He wanted to pass this bill before you knew just what was going on... before you had a chance to speak out!

But you had other ideas... In a matter of days, you and your fellow CFIF activists generated more than 100,000 Blast Faxes to Capitol Hill.  Because of that phenomenal effort, by Monday, Harry Reid backed down -- at least temporarily.

Harry Reid, Teddy Kennedy, John McCain, Lindsey Graham and the rest of the Amnesty gang suddenly WEREN'T LAUGHING ANYMORE... They had to switch plans. 

They put on the brakes and instead of passing this so-called "immigration compromise" in one fell swoop, they've now trying to pass it in bits and pieces over the next two weeks.

They're hoping and praying that you've run out of gas and that with the Memorial Day weekend coming up that you won't pay attention to what they're doing.

Just one example:

Remember last year when Congress passed legislation providing for a border fence? 

Remember, two weeks later -- when they thought you weren't looking -- how they tried to deny the funding to build that fence? 

Of course, after you made your voice heard, they eventually did provide funding for that fence? 

BUT WAIT A MINUTE, SO FAR THEY'VE BUILT ONLY 2 MILES!!!

The $2.5 TRILLION Senate "Scamnesty" Bill 

On Monday, when the Senate began debate on the latest "Scamnesty" legislation, Harry Reid was demanding that they pass the legislation before the Memorial Day weekend.

In fact, did you know that the legislation -- estimated to be more than 800 pages long -- wasn't even written when Senators Reid, Kennedy, McCain and others wanted their colleagues' approval on this disastrous Amnesty scheme?

That's right; your Senators hadn't even had an opportunity to read the bill.   Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) said it best when he stated, "The American people were not in those [secret] meetings.  There are 85 senators who have no idea what's in the bill."

And did you know that there are no plans for this Scamnesty legislation to be publicly debated and passed out -- or defeated -- in the relevant committees?  It was nothing more than a secret deal negotiated behind closed doors -- the details of which were shielded from the American people!

Just as bad, neither the Senate nor the American people have any clue as to what this legislation will cost American taxpayers!  Reid and our so-called Senate leaders never asked for a Congressional Budget Office cost estimate -- THEY DON'T CARE WHAT IT WILL COST US TAXPAYERS!

How Does It Feel To Be Taken For Granted?

The current bill -- drafted in secrecy by Teddy Kennedy and his pro-Amnesty GOP colleagues -- is precisely what an angry majority of Americans say they DO NOT want.

So why are Republicans on Capitol Hill and in the White House dancing around in glee, thumbing their high-and-mighty noses at the people who elected them?

Is it possible that they still, after all this time, think our opposition -- yours and mine -- is a mile wide and only half-an-inch deep...  that we're not really passionate about this issue?

Do they believe that come 2008, we'll be laughing: "Immigration?  Why were we so upset over that?  Who cares if 12-20 million illegals are on a path to citizenship?  What does it matter if that fence is still only two miles wide, that the Administration isn't about to secure the border?"

Do they believe that come 2008, we'll be saying:  "So what if our so-called elected leaders ignored the will of the American people?  We'll vote for them anyway... because we always, always do!"

Who Is Pulling The Strings?

Do you know who's pulling the strings of the Senators who crafted this so-called "immigration compromise?"  The ultra-liberal Washington Post told the world last week:   

"When Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.) declared last week that unnamed 'stakeholders' would decide whether Congress overhauls immigration law this year, Latino organizations in Washington understood exactly what he meant."

"After laboring in obscurity for decades, groups such as the National Council of La Raza, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and the National Immigration Forum are virtually being granted veto power over perhaps the biggest domestic issue coming before Congress this year."

We keep hearing that any changes to this so-called "immigration compromise" will break up the "fragile coalition" that crafted this nightmare. 

Were you part of this secret coalition?  Were the American people ever invited to the table?  Did the American people vote for the open borders organizations that were?

The answer is... "NO!"

This legislation is being driven by a bunch of organizations and special interests that stand to gain unprecedented power as soon as Congress doles out citizenship to 12-20 million illegals. 

The news reports this week have indicated that there is overwhelming opposition to this Amnesty legislation.  We already know that the American people oppose it.

But the opposition extends to some Members of Congress -- Republicans and Democrats.  State governments have spoken out against it.  Even the business interests that have supported "comprehensive immigration reform" in the past are speaking out against this latest Amnesty legislation. 

By the Way, Did You Hear What McCain Did?

For several years now, John McCain has declared common cause with hard leftists such as Russ Feingold and Teddy Kennedy.

The American people want enforcement of the laws we have on the books.  We want to seal our porous borders.

This latest attempt to grant Amnesty to 12-20 million illegals must be defeated.  We must continue to send our elected leaders a strong message.

The Senate will be debating this legislation for the next couple of weeks.  Let's continue to overwhelm their telephone switchboards and flood their fax machines.

We have defeated Amnesty on numerous occasions before and we can and will defeat it again.  But, to do so, we must keep the heat on our elected officials.
