A couple of weeks ago, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy, John McCain, Jon Kyl and several others drafted a bill that would give Amnesty to 12-20 million illegal aliens!

They drafted this horrendous bill behind closed doors... under the cover of darkness... and tried to shove it through the Senate before the American people -- and even their Senate colleagues -- had the chance to read and analyze it!

They emerged from that closed-door meeting laughing and slapping each other on the back... you probably still remember seeing that photo in all the newspapers! 

"Trust us," they said, "this is a good bill."

Of course, it wasn't!

Recognizing the manipulative Amnesty scheme of Washington politicians, CFIF activists took decisive action and thwarted their plans. Millions of concerned Americans beat Amnesty for illegals once again.

BUT GUESS WHAT?

Reid and company announced a few days ago that they are going to try to shove Amnesty down the throats of the American people again -- AS EARLY AS THIS WEEK!

And, sources on Capitol Hill are suggesting that pro-Amnesty forces are digging deeper into their bag of parliamentary tricks in an effort to suppress your criticism and honest debate!

According to a report published by Kathryn Jean Lopez on National Review's website:

"We expect Reid, in conjunction with support from McConnell, Lott and Grand Bargainers Kyl, Martinez, Graham and McCain, to introduce a brand new piece of legislation - and use Rule 14 to put the bill immediately on the Senate calendar without going thru committee - which of course, the first bill did not do as well."

You read that right... no debate... no committee hearings...

The report goes further:

Amnesty Vote Expected Before July 4th Recess...

Yes, CFIF activists and other concerned Americans, recently won a major battle against Amnesty for 12-20 million illegal aliens.

But our so-called elected leaders' insistence on reviving their "SCAMNESTY" legislation proves they are dead set on passing this legislation against the will of the American people.

To add insult to injury, Senate leaders are demanding a final vote on the legislation IN A MATTER OF DAYS.

Never mind that a recent Rasmussen survey found that only a mere 20% of the American people support the Senate Amnesty legislation!

And let's not forget that 12-20 million illegal aliens are still in major cities and small towns all over America -- and that thousands more are pouring across our borders EVERY SINGLE DAY!

We must also face the fact that some leaders in both parties JUST DON'T GET IT!   If they can't pass an immigration bill that includes Amnesty, then they won't even CONSIDER a bill to truly secure our borders ONLY.  No one is even TALKING about such a bill.

The truth is, pro-Amnesty politicians don't care about stopping the flow of illegal aliens into the United States.  They aren't even willing to enforce the border security laws already on the books.

Let's look at the record.

On December 17, 2005, President Bush signed a bill that REQUIRED the addition of 10,000 new border patrol agents over a five-year period. 

However, the Administration's own budget requested only 210 agents.  Why?

Current Border Patrol regulations are deliberately crafted to facilitate illegal entry.  For example, it is against the rules to pursue an illegal alien fleeing suspect.  Border Agents Ramos and Compean are serving 11 and 12 years respectively in part because they CHASED a fleeing illegal alien drug smuggler trying to smuggle nearly 800 lbs. of marijuana into the country.  At their trial, prosecutor Debra Kanof said: "Agents are not allowed to pursue. In order to exceed the speed limit, you have to get supervisor approval, and they did not." 

Does that sound like a regulation designed to stop illegal immigration? Does it sound like a regulation designed to stop the trafficking of drugs or even humans into the United States?

From the get-go, our border defense has been programmed TO FAIL -- to pave the way for an army of illegal aliens to swarm across our country.  

Enough is enough. Let's prove once again to our so-called elected leaders that Americans will not stand for their deceptive and underhanded tactics to give Amnesty to 12-20 million illegal aliens.       

Amnesty Trumps Secure Borders...

In 2006 -- when President Bush called for 6,000 National Guardsmen to reinforce the Border Patrol -- patriotic Americans applauded the move.  Then the details began to leak out, and it became very clear that politicians in Washington had no real interest in securing the borders.

The Guard would NOT stand shoulder to shoulder with the Border Patrol. Guardsmen would hang out behind lines, scan the horizon with binoculars, report any suspicious behavior, and generally give Border Patrol agents "logistical support."

When Mexico's then-President Vicente Fox went ballistic the Administration, sweat glistening, assured Fox that guardsmen "would not be armed."

By August, according to reporter Jerry Seper, "[s]everal veteran Border Patrol agents in Arizona told the Washington Times that they were issued standing orders to be within five minutes of National Guard troops along the border and that Border Patrol units were pulled from other regions to protect Guard units -- leaving their own areas short-handed."  The agents called these duties "the nanny patrol."

A Washington Times editorial, after describing the situation along the border, made these recommendations:

"There are a couple of ways to fix this mess. First, arm the Guardsmen on the border. It is idiotic and dangerous to send them to the border armed with just binoculars and a radio when drug dealers and smugglers regularly bring machine guns. Also, the Guardsmen should be on the border, not pushing pencils behind the lines. They should be plugging the gaps that Border Patrol doesn't have the numbers to man."

That would be a good start!

But instead, pro-Amnesty politicians would rather encourage more illegal border crossings by granting Amnesty to as many as 20 million illegal aliens already in the U.S.

The Cost Of Illegals To American Taxpayers Is Massive...

Immediately after you and millions of other concerned Americans killed the Senate Amnesty bill, its advocates -- led by Teddy Kennedy, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and Harry Reid -- were charging around Washington -- snorting, braying and demanding that the "SCAMNESTY" betrayal bill be brought up again!

This, despite overwhelming opposition by the American people.

This, despite the fact that -- absent committee meetings and thorough debate on the bill, which they refuse to have -- the American people are only beginning to learn the significant negative consequences of the Senate Amnesty legislation.

Truth be told, the enormous cost of granting Amnesty to millions of illegal aliens is being ignored.

Remember when this "grand bargain" was originally announced several weeks ago? Backers of the legislation refused to follow Senate procedure to have the bill's cost estimates scored by the Congressional Budget Office. They didn't care what their Amnesty bill was going to cost American taxpayers!

But Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation found that that the typical illegal-alien household would receives $19,588 more in benefits than it pays in taxes each year. Rector estimates that if all current illegal aliens were granted Amnesty, the net retirement costs (benefits minus taxes) could cost more than $2.5 trillion -- that's more than $8,333.00 for every man, woman and child in the U.S.

And what about the cost to our Social Security System?

According to a new study released just last week by The Senior Citizens League, A LOOPHOLE IN THE SENATE IMMIGRATION BILL PROVIDES FOR MORE THAN $966 BILLION IN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS TO ILLEGAL ALIEN WORKERS!

The group wrote in a release:

"Despite a provision in the bill that would prevent individuals who performed illegal work and then obtained a Social Security number after 2007 from receiving credit for Social Security taxes paid in previous years, the legislation does nothing to prevent aliens who illegally obtained 'non-work' Social Security numbers prior to 2004 from claiming benefits."

Shannon Benton, executive director of TREA Senior Citizens League, stated:

"The Senate is telling the American people that illegal aliens wouldn't be able to collect Social Security benefits under this immigration deal, and that is flat wrong. The truth is that illegal aliens would receive more than double in Social Security benefits what American taxpayers have spent so far on the war in Iraq." [Emphasis mine]

And, here are a few figures compiled by the Center for Immigration Studies to show what illegal aliens are currently costing legitimate American families:
Medicaid -- medical care for the indigent -- costs American taxpayers $2.5 billion per year;

treatment for the uninsured costs us another $2.2 billion;

food assistance programs such as food stamps; the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children; and free school lunches cost working America $1.9 billion;

the illegal aliens' share of federal aid to schools amounts to $1.4 billion;

In 2002, families headed by illegal aliens cost us in excess $26.3 billion.  You can imagine what it must cost in 2007.

So not only do the open-borders crowd in Washington, D.C. want to provide Amnesty to millions of illegal in our country, they could care less about the cost of doing so to hard-working American families.

GOP Leaders Look To Kennedy For Advice On How To Dupe The American People...

Since when did Teddy Kennedy become the daddy of the Republican Party?

On one immigration vote several weeks ago, John McCain and Lindsey Graham actually went to Kennedy to ask him how to vote; and, after consulting with Kennedy, Jon Kyl CHANGED HIS VOTE TO MATCH TEDDY'S!

And did you see Graham -- charging back and forth behind the podium like a caged hyena on the floor of the Senate -- squawking the praises of the Senator from Massachusetts?

Are Republicans on Capitol Hill so confused that they don't know how to vote?  Or whom to ask for advice?  Have they forgotten the people they are supposed to be representing? 

An overwhelming majority of the people in Arizona are opposed to Amnesty -- yet McCain and Kyl are leading the fight to cram 12-20 million illegals down their throats.

South Carolinians booed Graham when he appeared at the state Republican Convention.  His adoration of McCain-Kennedy Amnesty legislation has sickened his former supporters and demoralized his state party.

To paraphrase President Ronald Reagan; these folks may never see the light, but we can make them feel the heat.

And we can do it RIGHT HERE and RIGHT NOW!

Masters Of The Universe

Clearly our elected leaders are contemptuous of the folks back home -- who pay the price for all this manipulation.

The Washington insiders have their own agenda and their own timetable.  Look how the Senate leadership managed this bill first time around -- ignoring all traditional procedures designed to produce sound laws:

The details of the bill were worked out in secret by a few lawmakers, their       staffs, and White House schemers.  (With heavy irony, Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama -- who opposed the bill -- called them the "masters of the universe.")

Majority Leader Harry Reid deliberately scheduled no committee hearings. In committee, after all, lawmakers from both parties could call witnesses, weigh language and raise questions.  This time, the leadership wanted no witnesses called, language weighed or questions raised.

Committee staff members put the final version together and made it available at 2 a.m. just two days before debate was to begin.  AND THE BILL WAS HUNDREDS OF PAGES LONG.... Too long to read and absorb in the time allotted.

Reid initially scheduled only one week for debate, though -- after vigorous        protests -- he reluctantly extended the debate period to two weeks.

Clearly he hoped to rush this suicidal legislation through Congress before the American people even had a chance to skim it. 

BUT HE COULDN'T DO IT QUICK ENOUGH.  The Washington Times tells us who stopped him.  The Washington Times tells us YOU STOPPED THEM!

"The reality is that a bad bill would have passed the Senate if it hadn't been for massive protests from Americans.... But support for amnesty and open borders hasn't gone away. Mr. Bush and Sen. Ted Kennedy want to try again, as do such interest groups as the AFL-CIO, the Chamber of Commerce and the National Council of La Raza, which receives funds from billionaire George Soros' Open Society Institute."

So, they want to try again.  O.K.  If they'll restrict the legislation to slamming the door in the face of illegal aliens and punishing employers more concerned with their pocket books than with their country, then they'll actually do what the American people want.     

But that is just not going to happen.

We need to re-double our efforts to defeat this Amnesty legislation once again. We need to flood fax machines and telephone switchboards in the Senate to with a simple message: THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT AMNESTY DEAD, ONCE AND FOR ALL!
