What message did Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid send to patriotic Americans and our brave men and women in uniform when he proclaimed...  "this war is lost?"   

Translated into plain language, Reid figuratively spit in the face of our American soldiers, sailors and marines and told them: "You're risking your lives for nothing..." 

Harry Reid's reckless undermining of our American troops took place just weeks after Nancy Pelosi convened her unauthorized meeting -- possibly in violation of the Logan Act --with Syria's President, a know supporter of terrorism!

What is going on here?

Harry Reid has sent the identical message Tokyo Rose broadcast to our troops in the Far East during World War II.  After the war, Tokyo Rose was tried and convicted of treason.

But, then again, Tokyo Rose wasn't the Majority Leader of the Senate. 

In response to Senator Reid's reckless comments, Investors Business Daily called for his resignation:

"In aiding and comforting the enemy in wartime, Reid has betrayed the office he holds, shamed the Nevadans he represents and made the Democratic Party he leads synonymous with surrender. There is one way he can repair the damage he's done to the nation: step down."

We could not have put it better -- except for one problem:

Reid will never step down voluntarily.

He's too bloated with power, too corrupted by partisan greed, too willing to put politics above the interests of our brave men and women in uniform.

He must be pressured to step down.  And if he refuses, our conservative leaders in Congress must force the issue -- possibly by constitutional means!

If Harry Reid fails to resign, HE SHOULD BE EXPELLED OR IMPEACHED!

Reid Simply Isn't Calling Our Troops "Losers."

Of course, Harry Reid is not just telling our troops that they're a "bunch of losers."  He is doing so much more.

Patriotic Americans must recognize the dangerous political game Baghdad Harry Reid is playing with the War on Terror. 

Remember when Reid said last November that the Democrats would never "limit or cut off funds."  

Then, in April he announced his support of Senator Russ Feingold's bill to deprive our fighting forces of arms and ammunition by some arbitrary deadline. 

Did Baghdad Harry lie in November?  Did he conspire to abandon American troops to these mad-eyed Islamo-fascists even then?

Or is he so devoid of conscience that he switches positions whenever it seems politically expedient?

To see how obscenely partisan he really is, check out what he said just a few days ago: "We are going to pick up Senate seats as a result of this war."

You see!  There it is!  It's all about 2008 and presidential politics, not to mention building his liberal majority in Congress.

It's not even about the war, which -- once upon a time -- Reid voted to authorize.  

It's about furthering a horrific left-wing agenda...

Confirming liberal judges to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Raising taxes on hard working Americans to fund more pet projects.

Expanding the welfare state.

More government control and less individual freedom.

And if that means undermining our brave men and women fighting for freedom half a world away...

If that means we essentially give Islamo-fascists a green light to start committing more atrocities on U.S. soil -- instead of over there...

Well that's just the price YOU'LL have to pay so that Reid and his liberal cronies can take power and build their brave new world.

That's why Harry Reid is a dangerous man.  And that is why our conservative leaders must grow a spine and force Reid to step down.  If he refuses, they must initiate Congressional proceedings to forcibly remove him.

If we let Reid get away with his reckless remarks, we'll be sending a clear message to America's enemies that they've won...

We will also send a clear message to the liberal politicians that they can give aid and comfort to America's enemies at will, without any repercussion.

And that's the wrong message to send.

You Are Having A Tremendous Effect.

Two weeks ago, when Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi whispered sweet-nothings into the ear of international terrorist Bashar al-Assad and we called on Congress to act, the pundits and our elected leaders shook their heads in derisive amazement.

But that was before you bombarded Congressional offices with your Blast Faxes!

And now that Reid has opened his big mouth, calls for him to step down are numerous.

Providing Aid And Comfort To The Enemy?

What was Baghdad Harry Reid thinking when he publicly announced "this war is lost?"

He is essentially telling the terrorists: "Just hang in there, and all your jihadist dreams will come true." 

He promises them that if they hold on a little longer, the Great Satan will slink away, licking its wounds.  And to help even more, he even gives them a definite date!

In addition, he's telling the American people that a handful of delusional Islamo-fascists, driven by lust and hatred of America, can defeat and have defeated the United States, our allies and the principle of freedom.

Investors Business Daily put it this way:

"The Senate's top Democrat has announced to terrorists a U.S. surrender in Iraq. Considering our new strategy's documented successes, Harry Reid's determination to lose is practically treasonous."

"Reid has instead given moral support to the terrorists. His 'leadership' has been to try to cut off our forces' war funding. Now he has told the Islamofascists that victory is theirs if they can just keep blowing up U.S. soldiers and Iraqi citizens a little while longer."

Columnist Jordan McClintock wrote:

"In terms of strategy and relative military strength, we were in much worse shape in 1942.  Yet Republican Senator Robert Taft never considered sending a message to Adolph Hitler and Hirohito saying, 'Just hang on a little longer and you can have Europe and the entire Far East.' That's pretty much what Harry Reid has just done."

Responding to Baghdad Harry's boast that the Democrats would pick up Senate seats as the result of the war, Scott Bensing, executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, wrote:

"Just in case yesterday's quote wasn't bad enough... The new Democrat Majority in Congress has decided to use our troops as political pawns -- they made it clear just last week that they have no problem betting on the enemy and against our fighting men and women just to win seats in Congress. They have even tried to cut funding to our troops already in the field and announce to our enemy the exact date we will leave Iraq."

Just Who Is The Enemy?

America's brave men and women fighting overseas already have enough to worry about as they fight terrorist insurgencies and al Qaeda.  But now, Liberal leaders in Congress, led by Reid and Pelosi, seem to be doing everything in their power to ensure our defeat. 

In his out-and-out declaration of war against our troops, this week Senator Reid said:  "This war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme violence in Iraq this week."

Reid is either culpably ignorant or a contemptible liar.  Either way, he should be kicked out of the U.S. Senate.  He is a real and present danger to our military fighting in Iraq.

Here are the facts he doesn't mention, probably because they aren't posted on MoveOn.org's website. 

Over the past six weeks, civilian casualties in Baghdad have been reduced by about half.

Casualties nationwide have been reduced by almost a fourth.

A U.S. Army dispatch provides a concrete example of that success from the eastern city of Baqouba.  After a three-day operation against an al Qaeda stronghold, Sgt. Matthew Benzshawel reported: "We've pushed al-Qaeda out of here." In this siege, U.S. troops captured 12 terrorists and destroyed more than 20 weapons caches.

But these are just military reports, and, like the entire left wing, Harry Reid hates and distrusts American troops. 

So what do Iraqi observers say about the surge?

Al-Mada, Iraq's most respected newspaper, wrote: "We have to be happy about [the surge].  It is not easy anymore to place bombs in cafes, markets, near the universities and even the hospitals."

Al-Mada reported that "scores of al-Qaeda chiefs have been arrested," families driven from their homes have returned, and mosques have been reopened. "And," the paper said, "it especially made the (Iraqi) politicians understand that they should not expect a failure of the present government to boost their own careers."

You and I -- and a large majority of the American people for that matter -- have easy access to U.S. and Iraqi reports.  It makes one wonder where Harry Reid gets his news or if he even bothers to pay attention beyond his party's political ambitions.

Are We On A Path To Destruction?

If the terrorists were smart -- and they're not -- they would take into consideration the following facts:

Our troops on the ground don't agree with Baghdad Harry.  They believe in their mission and all the good they are doing over there -- despite the Main Stream Media's reports to the contrary. 

GEN. DAVID PETRAEUS, COMMANDER OF U.S. FORCES IN IRAQ, SAID THIS WEEK THAT JUST OVER HALF OF THE 25,000 "SURGE TROOPS" HAVE ACTUALLY ARRIVED.

So Reid's judgment that "this surge is not accomplishing anything" is based on nothing more than politics.

Perhaps talk show host Rush Limbaugh was right when he said that "these guys are invested in defeat."

A word of advice to the crazies who are oiling their AK-47s and wiring themselves with explosives:

Don't expect our soldiers in the field to be as yellow-bellied as an old left-wing ideologue like Harry Reid.

Don't expect our military commanders to make the mistake Reid made and give up when only half our reinforcements are in the field. 

Don't underestimate the toughness of the American people. 

We Americans are the kindest, most generous people in the world, but when you gratuitously murder over 3,000 of us -- including women and children -- you invited our righteous wrath. 

When you come after us, we get steely eyed and cold-hearted.  Don't judge us by the few quivering, bawling cowards on Capitol Hill. 

Make no mistake, these crazies aren't just watching our leaders... they're watching us too.

Remember what happened in 1980?  The American people elected Ronald Wilson Reagan and Iran mysteriously and immediately released the American hostages.

When Harry Reid is held to account for his words and actions, we send a message to them as well.

One More Word...

I recently read in the New York Times -- for the umpteenth time -- that the American people have grown weary of the war.

Even if that were the case... we've been down this path before and there is simply too much at stake to allow Reid and his left-wing cohorts in Congress and the media to lead us down the path of destruction.

These Islamo-terrorists are evil personified. 

Despite what Baghdad Harry may think, you cannot reason with them... you can not bargain with them... There is no logical reason for their hatred of America.  If we put our tails between our legs and go home, they will not come to love us or sing Kumbaya with us or roast marshmallows around the proverbial camp-fire with us...

They want our destruction... nothing more... nothing less.

Nothing you or I did to them justified the attacks on 9-11.

Nothing you or I did to them justified the many attacks we have thwarted as a direct result of the intelligence we received because our troops are over there breaking up terrorist cells and gathering vital information (information which will stop coming our way if Baghdad Harry has his way) .

Remember what happened after we pulled out of South East Asia?

Pol Pot massacred millions.

Of course it will be different this time.

This time, they're coming after us!

Reid knows it.  Pelosi knows it.  President Bush knows it. Our conservative leaders know it and you and I know it!

And while we can fault our conservative leaders if they stand by and do nothing, can't the same be said of each and every one of us if we stand idly by and do nothing?
