RE: No More Double-Dealing. Build That Border Fence
A U.S. Border Patrol agent has been brutally murdered by an illegal alien. Here is what happened. In a recreational area near Andrade, California, where people go to ride dune buggies, a brown Hummer suddenly roared into the campground, jeopardizing the lives of men, women, and children. As the Los Angeles Times put it: “The man at the wheel, a suspected drug smuggler, was heading to Mexico, fast.” Border Agent Luis Aguilar, quick and brave, grabbed a spike strip and threw it in front of the Hummer. The driver sped up and went after Aguilar. As one witness put it, "It looked like the man swerved and hit the agent intentionally."
Make no mistake, unfortunate incidents, like the murder of Luis Aguilar, will continue to happen as long as we continue to send the wrong message to the world that we ARE NOT serious about enforcing our immigration laws. Congress needs to get serious about building and funding that border fence and your actions last month DID NOT go unnoticed! According to The Washington Times; on December 17, Congress "passed a giant new spending bill that undermines current plans for a U.S.-Mexico border fence..." At that time, Congressman Duncan Hunter said: "This action basically repeals the Secure Fence Act (of 2006) and undermines past efforts to secure our nation's borders."
That's why Hunter has reintroduced his bill mandating the building of the fence. The American people will not tolerate any more double-dealing or two-timing. Pass Hunter's bill again, quickly, and this time actually build that fence. The American people are watching!
Sincerely,
Your Signature Will Be Recreated Here

A U.S. Border Patrol Agent has been brutally murdered by an illegal alien, and who's to blame?
Certainly, the illegal alien who intentionally swerved to run down Agent Luis Aguilar -- 32 years old, married, with two tiny boys, who will never know or remember their father -- is to blame.
But I can't help but wonder whether the border fence -- the one that the politicians in Washington promised to build across our southern border last year -- could have prevented this tragedy. The fence that the very same Congress, in the middle of the night, recently voted to gut funding for and keep the drug dealers and murderers pouring into this country ...
... Should they share some blame in the killing of Luis Aguilar?
And, what about those who hauled two brave Border Patrol Agents into a kangaroo court and convicted them based on perjured testimony of an admitted illegal alien drug smuggler?
Could it be that the unjust treatment of those two Border Patrol Agents, who are now serving a combined 23 years in federal prison for "doing their job," just may have emboldened criminal illegals to violate our nation's immigration laws even more?
If you haven't heard about the brutal murder of Border Patrol Agent Luis Aguilar, here's the raw story...
In a recreational area near Andrade, California, where people go to ride dune buggies, a brown Hummer suddenly roared into the campground, jeopardizing the lives of men, women and children.
As the L.A. Times put it: "The man at the wheel, a suspected drug smuggler, was heading to Mexico, fast."
Agent Aguilar, quick and brave, grabbed a spike strip and threw it in front of the Hummer.
The driver sped up and went after Aguilar. As one witness put it, "It looked like the man swerved and hit the agent intentionally."
Of COURSE he did!
And why not? According to regulations, border patrol agents aren't allowed to PURSUE illegal aliens.
And if agents use their guns, a U.S. Attorney will make certain they end up serving an 11 or 12-year prison sentence.
Of course, if our elected officials had actually allowed the construction of that fence... if they were really serious about securing the border, there would be no way to tell if it would have made a difference in the specific case of Aguilar.
But make no mistake, our elected leaders' lack of resolve when it comes to securing the border sends an unmistakable message to illegal aliens and drug smugglers.
Until our elected leaders get serious, things will only get more dangerous for our nation's brave border patrol agents and innocent Americans living along the southern border!

It's Time for Congress to Listen To The American People For A Change!
Our politicians in Washington continue to pander to a few agribusiness CEOs and special interest groups while our underpaid Border Patrol Agents work daily and nightly in a war zone -- seemingly with their hands tied behind their backs.
In fact, if you're a Mexican drug lord, it's become open season on America's Border Patrol Agents.
And by the way, do you honestly believe the Mexican government will ever allow Aguilar's killer to be extradited and tried for capital murder?
It would seem that Mexican officials do more to protect the lives of criminals than U.S. officials do to protect the lives of law enforcement officers.
The Mexican government has expressed its condolences to the Aguilar family, but at the same time it gives its citizens free maps, showing them where to sneak across the border, find water and shelter, and evade the Border Patrol.
What do you suppose Luis Aguilar thought about in the last few seconds before he was crushed under the wheels of that steel pit bull?
Did he think, "I can't use my pistol. I'll end up doing 11-12 years like the two Texas agents who tried to stop a dope dealer."
Did he think, "How did this guy get a Hummer over that wall? Oh, yes. I forgot. They never built the wall, did they?"
Or did he just think, "It's my job to stop this criminal before he kills some innocent people."
How many border guards will have to die (or be falsely imprisoned) before Congress heeds the will of the people and builds a fence to secure our border?
One thing is certain: A few illegal aliens may climb that fence, but it will most certainly help put an end to crossings in vans loaded with marijuana and cocaine and driven by cold-blooded killers.

Build That Fence!
What happened to the fence the American people were promised? The one that was mandated and funded when Congress, responding to the demands of the American people, passed the Secure Fence Act (SFA) in 2006 and President George W. Bush signed it into law?
Well, as we alerted you earlier this month, the U.S. Senate -- in the middle of the night -- passed a $555 billion omnibus spending bill that contained a tiny amendment revoking the mandate that the fence be built as originally specified.
Responding to this betrayal of the American people, Congressman Duncan Hunter, who authored the Secure Fence Act last year, said this:
"[P] rovisions were included in the omnibus spending bill that eliminated the most substantive provisions of the Secure Fence Act, including the requirement that fencing be double-layered and extend 700 miles across the Southern land border. The omnibus spending bill dismantles the only legislative advancement made in recent years towards securing our border with Mexico, and represents a prescription for failure that directly threatens the safety, security and prosperity of the American people." [emphasis mine]
Congressman Hunter is right! And, he is doing something about it.
Earlier this week, Hunter introduced legislation in the House of Representatives that:
requires the construction of double-layered fencing along America's Southern land border within 6 months of his bill's enactment; and
reinstates the provisions of the Secure Fence Act that were stripped by Congress in the omnibus spending bill.
Here's what Congressman Hunter said in a press release upon introducing his legislation:
"The legislation I am introducing today reinstates the most important elements of the Secure Fence, which were wrongly amended under the omnibus spending bill. If we truly hope to bring some sense of security to our Southern land border, then we must begin building the appropriate infrastructure in the timeliest manner possible. I look forward to working with my colleagues over the coming months to correct this legislative error."

What's The Cost?
By the way, violence along the border has increased 44 percent since 2006.
In part that's because at least 2,000 people come across our border every day -- 365 days per year. Many are murderers, criminals and thieves.
According to some estimates:
The crime rate for illegal aliens in the United States is two-and-a-half times higher than that of LEGAL aliens.
Nearly one million sex crimes have been committed by illegal aliens.
At present, an estimated 27-30 percent of all inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens -- at a cost to taxpayers of $3 million per day.
And speaking of costs, each and every one of us must bear the financial burden of millions of illegal aliens and their dependents.
According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), we spend $11 billion to $22 billion each year on welfare for illegal aliens. Some estimates put the cost as high as $90 billion!
The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reports that U.S. taxpayers fork over $2.2 billion dollars a year on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens and their dependents.
And how about $2.5 billion dollars a year on Medicaid?
Also, our educational costs -- already the highest in the world -- have soared into outer space as a consequence of illegal immigration.
Even CNN
acknowledges that American taxpayers spend $12 billion dollars a year on primary and secondary school education for children who are here illegally!
We spend $17 Billion dollars a year on the American-born children of illegal aliens.
And here's the kicker: Some ordinary American children, whose parents and grandparents are citizens and speak English, have been forced to go to school AND TAKE ALL THEIR CLASSES IN SPANISH!
Is this what Luis Aguilar gave his life to preserve? Is this the America that our politicians wanted to perpetuate when they flat-out refused to secure the borders, including building the fence that could go a long way toward stopping this madness?

But There Is An Even Greater Danger...
It isn't just the money or the capture of our towns and cities or the demand that we become a bilingual nation. Aguilar's death foreshadows a time when we may face a danger greater than any American has ever faced before.
FAIR reports the following:
In 2005 alone, 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens crossed the U.S./Mexico border.
As many as 19,500 of them were illegal aliens from terrorist countries.
Question: How many more have slipped across since then, nurturing their obscene hatred of America, ready to commit mass murder for al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations?
How many of them were sent here as saboteurs and suicide bombers, fanatics who are just waiting for the order to be given?
And there's a more obvious and immediate danger, particularly to our children:
Drug dealers -- like the one who murdered Luis Aguilar -- have brought millions of pounds of lethal drugs across the border: marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin.
In fact, most illicit drugs enter this country over the U.S./Mexico border.
Secure the border and you immediately get some of these lethal drugs off our streets.
Maybe Luis Aguilar's little boys will grow up in a country where the drug culture will be nothing more than a bad memory. But the first step toward achieving that society is a secure border.
That's what Luis Aguilar dedicated his life to doing -- securing our borders.
It is past time for our so-called leaders in Congress to listen to the American people and act NOW.
