It's not just ACORN. With each passing day, it is becoming more and more apparent that when it comes to voter registration fraud, ACORN is just the tip of the iceberg! And it's an effort that must be stopped. On one hand, the left is building a firewall against the truth. ”Nobody’s registering fictitious voters,” they say. And on the other hand, they're making false accusations, charging everyone else with accusations of committing the very same fraudulent and despicable acts that some among them appear to be actually committing. You can almost hear their cries: ”They're trying to intimidate poor, honest people to scare them away from the polls.” Who said you can't have your cake and eat it too? Of course, the general idea is that if plans to steal the election go unrealized, liberals can still throw doubt onto the entire process. And, with each inch that is given, another mile will be taken. That's why we must take action now. That's why we must now say that enough is enough. That's why we must draw a line in the sand. We must keep our elections legitimate! Tell them they must act NOW – in the next week – to ensure the integrity of our electoral system. Only a special session of Congress and a federal law requiring voters to provide identification at the polls or have their votes counted provisionally until legitimacy can be verified can avert this threat to and assure the American people that the results of the election are legitimate! http://www.cfiflistmanager.org/stopvoterfraud.html AOL Members Use This Hyperlink If the hyperlink above does not appear to function, copy and paste it into the address bar of your browser. Last week, MoveOn.org put out a blatantly false e-mail to its supporters accusing conservatives, like you, of voter fraud. "The dirty tricks have already begun. Republicans are shamelessly attempting to prevent eligible Obama supporters from casting a vote: Election officials in some swing states have been illegally purging voter registration rolls." To MoveOn.org's credit, they footnoted the story, which was published in the liberal New York Times. But if you actually bother to read the story, it says nothing about “dirty tricks.” The Times actually states that the "purging" appears to be unintentional, "the result of mistakes." To quote the New York Times: "Tens of thousands of eligible voters in at least six swing states have been removed from the rolls or have been blocked from registering in ways that appear to violate federal law.... The actions do not seem to be coordinated by one party or the other, nor do they appear to be the result of election officials intentionally breaking rules, but are apparently the result of mistakes in the handling of the registrations and voter files as the states tried to comply with a 2002 federal law, intended to overhaul the way elections are run." Yet, MoveOn.org took the liberty to stretch and twist what even the liberal New York Times reported. But hold the bus. That's not the half of it. The Times is playing a little fast and loose as well and claims voters are being removed "improperly" because state election officials are removing voters from the roles if they can find no Social Security Number for the voter in the federal database. To be accurate here, the Times points out that federal law stipulates that election officials should only look for Social Security Numbers as a last resort, only after attempts to find a record of a driver's license or other state-issued identification have failed. But wait until you hear this. According to the newspaper: "In the year ending Sept. 30, election officials in Nevada, for example, used the Social Security database more than 740,000 times to check voter files or registration applications and found more than 715,000 nonmatches, federal records show. Election officials in Georgia ran more than 1.9 million checks on voter files or voter registration applications and found more than 260,000 nonmatches." The Times continues: "Last week, after the inquiry by The Times, Michael J. Astrue, the commissioner of the Social Security Administration, alerted the Justice Department to the problem and sent letters to election officials in Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Nevada, North Carolina and Ohio. The letters ask the officials to ensure that they are complying with federal law." Wait a minute here.... Obviously some of these mismatches can be attributed to clerical errors or other legitimate causes. But wouldn't patriotic Americans be more concerned about finding out how 715,000 people in Nevada and 260,000 people in Georgia were registered to vote and no Social Security Numbers could be found for these individuals. Come on. That's a huge number. Is it possible -- even conceivable -- that numbers that huge could have been generated by massive fraud? Leave it to our government to see possible evidence of wide-spread fraud and bend over backward to accommodate it. Of course the liberal New York Times doesn't provide any answers as to how many of these 975,000 mismatched registrations were mistakes or attributable to legitimate causes. Moreover, the Times seems to be preoccupied with pushing people into the voting booth without any verification or scrutiny whatsoever. This at a time when reports indicate that ACORN alone is registering thousands or tens of thousands of fraudulent voters. Think about it this way. To work legally in this country, a United States citizen must produce either a valid United States Passport OR BOTH a valid state ID AND Social Security Card. But when it comes to voting, a potentially fraudulent state-issued ID – or nothing at all – will suffice. If that is the law, the law needs to be changed! But we're not done yet. MoveOn.org made even more idiotic accusations when they said: "Fox News has been spreading false allegations about ACORN, a community group that registers low-income people to vote -- laying the ground for challenges to legitimate voter registrations." False accusations against ACORN? Give me a break! In defense of that ludicrous accusation, MoveOn.org links to a story by Media Matters for America, an extreme left-wing organization that - as with MoveOn.org - is a brain-child of socialist left-wing billionaire George Soros. MoveOn.org makes another unsubstantiated accusation: "In Philadelphia, right-wing operatives have distributed flyers falsely warning that anyone with so much as an unpaid parking ticket will be arrested if he or she attempts to vote." Another blatant MoveOn.org inaccuracy. Apparently a flyer exists, but it's nothing more than a four paragraph type-written note by an anonymous person who claims that he (or she) was approached by an "Obama supporter... at school" and was told that undercover police officers would issue warrants to people with unpaid traffic tickets at the polls. The story, which appears on Philly.com, makes no mention as to who published the flier - which looks suspiciously like a chain-letter one would receive in the mail - nothing is written about the identity or credibility of this so-called "Obama supporter" or even how many of these fliers were distributed. It would seem that MoveOn.org is short on facts and long on accusations. For all we know, some liberal from MoveOn.org created the letter, remember Rathergate, and leaked it to the press as an example of "voter intimidation." The point is, we simply don't know, and the reporter from Philly.com didn't even bother to find out. And last but not least, MoveOn.org made the following accusation: "A GOP county chair in Michigan promised to block people whose homes are in foreclosure from voting!" Of all the inaccuracies printed by MoveOn.org, this one is so cleverly misleading that it almost sounds credible and tugs at the heart-strings if read without discernment. In fact, the chairman of the Republican Party in Macomb County, Michigan, actually did announce his plans to bring a listing of foreclosed homes to the poll with him and challenge - not block - anyone attempting to vote from those addresses. Of course, there was no mention made of the fact that with widespread reports of voter registration fraud by ACORN alone, it's perfectly legitimate to challenge a voter... particularly voters who claim a foreclosed home as their place of residence. It's also legitimate to challenge a vote from someone listing an empty lot or a non-existent address or a condemned home as their residence. Now, in some cases, people do still live in homes that are in the process of foreclosure, but guess what, in those cases, the individuals in question should have no problem verifying their identities and voting. And that's the point. Those who commit massive voter fraud simply find the possibility that someone could actually be asked to prove they are who they say they are just too much of a hassle. The left calls it "voter suppression." I call it "fraud prevention." Is it possible that the left actually believes that people have a Constitutional right to commit fraud? Tell them they must act NOW – in the next week – to ensure the integrity of our electoral system. Left-wing newspapers, TV commentators and radical bloggers are all dishing out even more garbage: Joe Conason, at Salon.com, wrote: “Across the country, the Republican Party continues to intimidate African-American and Latino voters - an ugly legacy of Chief Justice William Rehnquist.” Excuse me? Steven Rosenfeld of AltNet.org wrote: “As the presidential election comes to a close, the Republican Party - and its allies in law enforcement at the FBI and at county levels in Ohio - are announcing voting-related prosecutions that civil rights advocates say are intended to intimidate voters, despite prosecutorial rules that bar these disclosures before an election.” And the Associated Press: “Andrea Kaminski, executive director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, a nonpartisan group that advocates for fair elections, said the GOP’s recruitment strategy sounded ‘heavy-handed and inappropriate.'’’ “ ‘It certainly sounds like an attempt to intimidate voters. It does,’ she said.” Of course we all know what just happened in Ohio, a “battleground state.” About 200,000 of 666,000 voters who registered this year gave driver's license numbers or Social Security numbers that didn’t match records in other government databases. Mark Rhoads wrote in the Illinois Review: “Tolerating large-scale vote fraud is cooperating with a basic assault on the legitimacy of our entire government. Every fraudulent vote cast dilutes the value of your legal vote and those of your neighbors. If vote fraud casts doubt on the legal standing of the winning candidate, then it is impossible for half of the population to accept a president as legitimate and that person pays a price in public support.” Lake County (Illinois) Clerk Willard Helander expressed outrage at the extent of voter fraud: “I am just stunned at the level of people compromising the integrity of the voting process," she said, adding that her office had been "swamped" with fraudulent voter forms and she had personally spotted problems with nearly 1,000 voter registrations this year alone. Michelle Malkin reported on yet another layer of this fraudulent registration movement that seems to be sweeping our country. Marc Gustafson – a Columbus, Ohio activist – devised an ingenious scheme to register and vote all sorts of people who don’t live in Ohio. As Malkin described Gustafson’s scam: “An entire houseful of young, non-Ohioan Democrat activists have used the Brownlee Avenue address to register themselves to vote in the Buckeye State and secure absentee ballots under extremely shady circumstances – all while mobilizing a large effort to register thousands of others for absentee and early voting. The activists are leaders of a group called ‘Vote From Home ‘08.’” Gustafson boasted about it in an interview: “It’s a perfect opportunity for them to come in, register at a temporary address like a homeless shelter or a YMCA or something like that. They can register at that address because they don’t know where they’re going to be tomorrow or next week.” Of this kind of blatant and arrogant fraud, John McCain’s campaign manager said: "It remains our belief that American citizens should be guaranteed that their legitimate votes are not wiped away by illegally cast ballots." Let’s make sure our votes count.
